THE ONE HERE · SHARED HUMAN SUPPORT

You Don't Join The One Here. You Live It.

The One Here is a simple philosophy: recognize another person, act constructively, and allow that example to spread.

No membership. No initiation. No mandatory beliefs. No permission required.

You do not need to know its founder, follow an organization, or receive recognition for your actions.

The idea belongs to anyone willing to put it into practice.

OUR VISION

Imagine a World Where We Show Up for One Another.

Not a world without hardship. A world where hardship does not automatically mean facing it alone.

Where someone going through a difficult season is not forgotten.

Where helping another person is not extraordinary, reserved for institutions, or dependent on recognition.

It is simply something we do.

We believe unnecessary suffering can sometimes be prevented or reduced when people recognize a need and respond with meaningful action.

One person may not be able to change everything.

But one person can change something for someone. And that matters.

THE PHILOSOPHY

In Every Person, I See Myself.

At different moments in life, we are all both: the person who needs help and the person who can offer it.

These are not permanent identities. They are circumstances that change throughout a human life.

To recognize ourselves in another person is not to assume our experiences are identical. It is to understand that their humanity is no less important than our own.

The One Here begins with that recognition.

It does not ask everyone to think alike, believe alike, or live alike.

It asks us to consider how we treat the person before us.

“In every person, I see myself.”
THE PRACTICE

Three Simple Actions.

The philosophy becomes meaningful through what we do.

01

RECOGNIZE

See the person, not just their circumstances.

Listen, acknowledge their dignity, and try to understand what is actually needed.

02

ACT CONSTRUCTIVELY

Do something useful within your means.

Offer food, share a resource, help solve a practical problem, give your time, or provide support in another meaningful way.

03

LET IT SPREAD

An act of support needs no public credit, repayment, or acknowledgment.

Others are free to carry the principle into their own lives, in their own way.

No reporting requirement. No central authority controls the practice. Its continuation depends on people choosing to live it.

THE DISTINCTION

A Philosophy Without Ownership.
A Foundation With Responsibility.

THE ONE HERE

An open philosophy of shared humanity and constructive action.

It is independent of any individual, institution, corporation, religion, or membership structure.

Anyone can practice it. Anyone can share it. No permission is needed.

THE ONE HERE FOUNDATION

An organized charitable project that puts the philosophy into practice through practical assistance, resource coordination, and accountable stewardship.

It maintains procedures, records, and financial oversight because people entrust resources and sensitive requests to its care.

It serves the philosophy without claiming ownership over it.

The Foundation is one expression of The One Here. It is not the boundary of The One Here.

THE FOUNDATION IN ACTION

Practical Support. Real Human Needs.

Based in the Sacramento region, The One Here Foundation works to support individuals and families experiencing hardship across the United States.

Our focus is practical: groceries, utilities, transportation, household essentials, school supplies, and other immediate needs that can create serious barriers in everyday life.

We review requests individually and provide assistance when appropriate resources are available.

We also work to connect people with community resources and other sources of support.

The Foundation seeks to document its work, respect the dignity and privacy of the people it serves, and make each act of assistance meaningful and accountable.

AN OPEN INVITATION

Begin Where You Are.

You do not have to donate to us to practice The One Here.

You do not have to wear a symbol, claim a title, or announce your participation.

You can begin in your own home, neighborhood, workplace, or community.

Recognize someone. Do what you reasonably can. Allow the act to stand on its own.

And if you want to help the Foundation provide direct assistance to people experiencing hardship, you are welcome to support that work.

One humanity.

One person in front of us.

One act of meaningful support at a time.

“In every person, I see myself.”

May you be free from unnecessary suffering.
